It’s designed to split trunks and thick branches vertically — a technique used to create dramatic deadwood features, add taper, and achieve the kind of movement and age that would otherwise take decades to develop naturally. This 8 1/4″ Yoshiaki tool is made in Japan with traditional hand-finishing. Not for everyday use, but when the technique calls for it, nothing else will do.
